About Clew
What is Clew?
Clew is a voice AI tutor for secondary school students, and for anyone who wants to learn. It teaches by asking questions instead of giving answers, and it is built first for neurodivergent learners.
Who is Clew for?
Students aged about 11 to 18, their families and their teachers, and anyone who wants to learn. Clew is designed first for learners with ADHD, dyslexia, autism, dyspraxia and other differences.
What subjects does Clew cover?
Maths and science first, from the basics to exam preparation, with English and more subjects on the way.
Which languages does Clew speak?
English and Arabic, each written in its own words rather than translated. Arabic runs right to left, with its own voice.
Who made Clew?
Mohammad Ghasemi and Arash Shahrokhi, who work as assistive technology trainers at Remtek, helping neurodivergent and disabled students learn every day. Clew is built on that experience.
How Clew teaches
How is Clew different from ChatGPT?
Chatbots are made to answer. Clew is made to teach: it keeps track of what you are learning, looks for the idea behind a mistake and uses questions and hints so you reason it out yourself.
Will Clew ever just give the answer?
Not straight away. If a student is really stuck, Clew works through a similar example first, then hands the question back. The final step is always theirs.
Does my child have to talk out loud?
No. Students can talk, type, draw on the whiteboard or point to what they mean, and every way counts the same. Some students think best out loud and some don't, and both are fine.
How does Clew compare with a human tutor?
A great human tutor is wonderful, and Clew isn't here to replace teachers. Clew is there whenever a student needs it, never runs out of patience, remembers how each student learns and works alongside their teacher. Many students will use both.
What if my child is behind?
Clew traces a topic back to the earlier idea that's missing and rebuilds from there, at the student's own pace, without making them feel behind.
Is Clew only for neurodivergent students?
No. Clew is built first for neurodivergent learners, which makes it clearer, calmer and more flexible for every student. Nobody needs a diagnosis to use any of it.
Families and schools
Can parents see how it's going?
Yes. Parents and carers get a short summary after each session and can see which skills their child has worked on, mastered or still finds hard.
Can teachers and students use Clew on their own?
Yes. A student can learn with Clew at home without a school, and a teacher can prepare practice and quizzes without any students on Clew. When they connect, the teacher sees where the class needs help.
Is Clew safe for children?
Sessions stay on learning. Clew steers away from off-topic conversation, stops unsafe ones and flags serious concerns to a parent, carer or the school. We never sell student data.
