Built for every kind of mind

Made first for the students most tools forget

Clew is designed first for neurodivergent learners and students with special educational needs. We know these students well: supporting them is our everyday work.

Why we start here

The same barriers, every day

Clew's founders, Mohammad and Arash, work as assistive technology trainers at Remtek, where they help neurodivergent and disabled students learn with the right tools, one student at a time. Week after week they see the same barriers: walls of text, too many steps at once, time pressure, the fear of getting it wrong in front of someone, and tools that assume everyone thinks the same way.

They also see what works: patience, one step at a time, explaining the same idea in a different way, and tools that adapt to the student instead of the other way round. Clew is that experience, turned into a tutor that's there whenever a student needs it.

Designing for the edges helps the middle too. Clear steps, calm screens and read-aloud help every student, not only those with a diagnosis.

How Clew adapts

Support for the need, not the label

Every student is different, so Clew adapts to what each one needs, whatever their diagnosis, or none.

  • Focus and attention

    Short, clear and moving

Small steps, each with a time estimate, one question at a time and sessions as short as you like. Clew helps you get started, notices when attention drifts, suggests a break and helps you pick the thread back up.

  • Reading and writing

    Words that work for you

Read-aloud with each word highlighted, easier-to-read fonts, more spacing, and talking instead of typing whenever writing gets in the way.

  • Processing and memory

    Time and repetition, without fuss

Clew waits, repeats, rephrases and summarises on request, and never makes you feel slow for asking again.

  • Predictability

    No surprises

Every session shows its plan, how long it takes and where it ends before it starts. Clear, literal language, the same layout every time and a heads-up before anything changes.

  • Movement and coordination

    Less handwriting, bigger targets

Answer out loud, type or tap. No neat handwriting needed, and buttons are big enough to hit easily.

  • Confidence

    No judgement, ever

Mistakes are part of learning with Clew. Press “I'm stuck” any time, and Clew helps without a sigh, a timer or a red cross.

Set it once

Your settings follow you everywhere

Font, text size, line spacing, colours, voice speed and motion. A student sets them once and every session opens their way, on any device, at home or at school.

You can try a few of these on this website right now: open Reading settings at the top of the page.

Explain it another way

If one way doesn't land, there's always another

  • A picture

A diagram, a number line or a quick sketch on the whiteboard.

  • A story

The same idea, told through something from everyday life.

  • Smaller steps

The same path, cut into steps small enough to take one at a time.

  • Out loud

Clew talks it through, slowly, as many times as you need.

With teachers and SENCOs

Support that travels with the student

With the family's or school's permission, a student's settings and the support that helps them can be shared with their teachers, so the right help is there in class as well as at home.

Teachers see what helps each student most, not just their scores.

Clew supports learning. It doesn't diagnose anything, and no one needs a diagnosis to use any of it.
