About us

Who we are

We help every kind of mind find its own way to the answer

Our story

Built on what we see every day

We are Mohammad and Arash, and we both work as assistive technology trainers at Remtek. Remtek supplies assistive technology to disabled and neurodivergent students across the UK and trains them to use it. Every day we work one to one with these students, fitting the tools to their course and to the way they learn.

That work shows us what helps. A patient question, asked at the right moment. One step at a time, never ten at once. Tools that adapt to the student, instead of the student having to adapt to them.

It also shows us what gets in the way. Answer machines that hand over the result, so nothing sticks. One-size-fits-all lessons that leave behind anyone who learns differently.

Clew is that experience turned into a tutor for secondary school students, and for anyone who wants to learn. It talks problems through, asks the next good question and keeps going until the idea is theirs. It is built first for neurodivergent learners, because what works for them works better for everyone.

The founders

Meet Mohammad and Arash

  • Mohammad Ghasemi, smiling, in a navy jacket with his arms folded

    Mohammad Ghasemi

    Co-founder · Product

    Today
Assistive technology trainer at Remtek, supporting neurodivergent and disabled students
    Background
    • Trained in law, with an LLM in International Commercial and Business Law (Distinction) from the University of Essex
    • Researches AI governance and privacy law at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge
    • Built SQE Cracker, now Barex, a platform with an AI law tutor for future solicitors, after sitting their qualifying exam himself
    Why Clew
Mohammad sat a demanding professional exam in his second language. He saw how a test can measure reading speed more than understanding, and how much harder that is for neurodivergent students.
  • Arash Shahrokhi in glasses and a grey jacket, standing by a window

    Arash Shahrokhi

    Co-founder · Engineering

    Today
Assistive technology trainer at Remtek, supporting neurodivergent and disabled students
    Background
    • Studied physics at Shahid Beheshti University before turning to law
    • Lawyer and business adviser, with an LLM from Nottingham Law School
    • Began his legal career at Dentons, then advised companies on compliance and cross-border deals
    Why Clew
Arash sees every day that having study software is one thing and learning with it is another. No student should have to master several tools and build a study routine on top of their course.

Our principles

What we believe

  • Questions before answers

Anyone can be handed an answer. Understanding comes from reaching it yourself, so Clew asks the next good question and leaves the thinking to the student.

  • Every mind learns differently

Dyslexia, ADHD, autism or none of these: there is no one right way to learn. Clew changes its pace, its words and how it presents each idea to fit the student, not the other way round.

  • Together, or on your own

Teachers and students can work together in Clew, and each can also use it fully alone. Nobody has to wait for the other to get started.

  • Safety and privacy first

Clew is made for young people, so their safety and privacy shape every decision we make, from what Clew says to what it keeps.

  • Calm by design

Clear, predictable screens, gentle motion and nothing that rushes you. A calm space leaves more room to think.

We'd love to hear from you
